Are You a Plague?

A public speaker for the Jews spoke against Paul. Notice part of what this man, Tertullus, said, “For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes” (Acts 24:5).
They considered Paul a plague (New King James Version). The New American Standard Version says, “a real pest;” the New International Version, “a troublemaker,” and the American Standard Version and King James Version, read, “pestilent fellow.”
Why did they call Paul names? He preached to the Jews and he led a religious group that they did not like. However, Paul did nothing to harm the Jews, but only sought to give them what God Himself had given them.
If you bring a life-changing message to people, they will consider you a real problem. Are you prepared for what they will say about you?
