In Job 29, Job reminisced about the times before his suffering.
“When I went out to the gate by the city,
When I took my seat in the open square,
The young men saw me and hid,
And the aged arose and stood;
The princes refrained from talking,
And put their hand on their mouth;
The voice of nobles was hushed,
And their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth.”
(Job 29:7-10)
People respected Job, but during his suffering none of them respected him. Did they respect him in the past for wrong reasons, even as they disrespected him in the present for the wrong reasons?
Why do you respect people?
