The Optimistic Tore Their Clothes

Ten of the twelve spies brought back a bad report of the land, or more specifically of the nations living in the Land of Canaan. Israel responded with their customary complaining and sought to make a new leader to take them back to Egypt. Shocked at the actions of Israel, Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before the congregation.
Look at what the two spies did who believed Israel could take the land from the wicked inhabitants, “But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes…” (Numbers 14:6).
What would you have to hear that would move you to grab your clothes and then tear them? Joshua and Caleb heard disbelief. They heard Israel saying they wanted to go back to something horrible. Joshua and Caleb saw before them an opportunity that slaves do not have, and that is to acquire their own land, yet, the congregation wanted to turn its back on a once in a lifetime opportunity. The two spies heard that the congregation did not believe the Lord could lead them in taking the land.
What do you believe about the Lord? I do not mean that academically. Do not give the right answer with your lips, but give the right answer with your life!
