Offended at Wisdom and Mighty Works

Now think on this. Jesus went to the place where He grew up, entered the synagogue and taught. The people who had known Him as a boy, heard His wisdom and had heard about His mighty works, and wondered where He received such things.
They also said, “‘Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?'” So they were offended at Him” (Mark 6:3). Did I read that right? They were offended by His wisdom and mighty miraculous works?
How would you have reacted to Jesus, if you had seen Him as a young child, then a teenager, who worked as a carpenter on into His twenties, and later He becomes this great teacher?
Do you treat young people whom you have seen grow up and who have become successful, as men and women now?
