Attending to the Needs of Leaders

We have the mind that we want to be served, but we should see that serving brings great honor. The Lord wanted the tribe of Levi to tend to the needs of the high priests, saying, “And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may serve him. And they shall attend to his needs and the needs of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of meeting, to do the work of the tabernacle” (Numbers 3:5-7).
Do you think what the tribe of Levi did for Aaron and the high priests was dishonorable, something menial, something beneath you? Picture yourself helping Aaron performing his great work of mediating between God and men. Does that look menial? Serving others, especially attending to the needs of leadership that they might do their jobs brings honor. Look for opportunities to serve rather than waiting for someone to serve you. The Lord shall bless you for it.
