Do Not Prostitute Yourself Spiritually

You know what prostitution is, but the Lord warned Israel to avoid another kind of prostitution, “And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people” (Leviticus 20:6).
Turning to mediums and familiar spirits is like turning to prostitutes or is to become a prostitute. Why? Israel, like the church, had the Lord for a husband. Therefore to turn to mediums and familiar spirits an Israelite looked away from the Lord and to someone else for counsel on life. Mediums and familiar spirits tell people what they should seek from the Lord.
You could compare that to a woman seeking men other than her husband. When a woman does that to her husband, then the husband sets his face against his wife and may eventually cut her off, that is, divorce her.
The Lord promised to do the same thing to Israel, if they sought mediums and familiar spirits. The truth of Leviticus 20:6 still lives. If we turn to someone to get what we should get from the Lord, He will set His face against us and cut us off.
Turn now to the Lord and never look away from Him again. Commit your life to Him forever. Have you been baptized for the forgiveness of your sins?
