Receiving and Giving

The Lord wanted a tabernacle among the children of Israel that He might dwell with them. He wanted them to make the tabernacle for Him. “Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering'” (Exodus 25:1-2).
When you read of the materials that He wanted them to give, you might wonder where former slaves, who have not yet owned their businesses or gotten jobs in their new nation, got all that stuff. Remember just before Israel left Egypt, the Lord told them to ask the Egyptians for gold and so on.
Therefore, the Israelites freely received and so they should freely give. They willingly received, so they should willingly give.
It is any different for us?
