No One Spared

The first nine plagues upon Egypt were horrible. Yet, the Egyptians had no idea of the devastation of plague number ten, which they would have considered worse than the first nine put together.
“Then Moses said, ‘Thus says the LORD: “About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals”‘” (Exodus 11:4, 5).
The Lord, not a so-called “Death Angel,” would go through the land of Egypt and the Lord would then send a destroyer into the homes of the Egyptians and the firstborn would die.
This affected every home in Egypt, from the greatest, such as Pharaoh to the humblest, such as the woman who worked behind the handmill. What nation has ever had such tragedies? The ten plagues, topped off with this last one just about wiped out the nation of Egypt.
Ironically, the only way that Egypt could have survived was by the hand of the Lord. You see, ultimately the Lord wants to save the Egyptians. Any Egyptian who repents and turns to Him, He will save. He does the same for all nations today, saving anyone through Jesus Christ.
