Jesus Spoke in Parables

After recording some parables of Jesus, Matthew wrote, “All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: ‘I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world'” (Matthew 13:34, 35).
From this passage, I gather that Jesus spoke parables for at least two reasons. First, it fulfilled prophecy. Second, He used parables as a means of revealing what had been secret for a long time, yet, without revealing everything.
He would preference some of His parables saying that they were of the Kingdom of God, but even then by using a parable He spoke in somewhat veiled language. Parables revealed without revealing too much. Parables showed that there are magnificent truths without showing the whole truth.
Read His parables and let them fascinate you on how He spoke of the greatest thing of which humans can be a part, yet, He showed that with simple stories of the earth.
