Forgotten, Then Remembered

Joseph helped the chief butler of Egypt, but the chief butler did not remember Joseph’s help, at least not right away. Genesis 40 reveals how Joseph helped the chief butler, but then Genesis 41 begins in this manner, “Then it came to pass, at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh had a dream; and behold, he stood by the river” (Genesis 41:1).
As you read you will discover that the chief butler suddenly remembered that Joseph interpreted dreams for the butler and the chief baker and that Joseph could probably help Pharaoh with his dream. However, as the beginning of Genesis 41 shows, two years passed before this happened.
Joseph may have thought he was forgotten, but at the right time he was remembered.
Perhaps someone has forgotten you, but be patient, go on living your life and see what happens.
