Man's Approval Versus God's Approval

Things changed between Jacob and his father-in-law. Therefore, it was time for Jacob to leave and to return to his family. Moses wrote, “So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flock, and said to them, ‘I see your father’s countenance, that it is not favorable toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me'” (Genesis 31:4, 5).
Laban no longer favored Jacob, but God did and that mattered most. Jacob wanted the love of his father-in-law, because he was not only that, but he was also Jacob’s uncle.
Yet, sometimes those who are supposed to love us, do not. When that happens, remember that God always loves you and will always be with you.
