Do People Respect and Honor You?

Abraham’s wife Sarah died. He wanted to bury her, but he needed to purchase a burying place. He approached the people where he lived and asked them for a place. Watch how they responded to him, “And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him, ‘Hear us, my lord: You are a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our burial places. None of us will withhold from you his burial place, that you may bury your dead'” (Genesis 23:5, 6).
Abraham was a wealthy man, but they did not refer to that primarily when they called him a mighty prince. It was the way the man lived that impressed the sons of Heth.
Do people respect and honor you where you live? I do not mean the members of the church where you go, but the local townspeople. If they do, why is it? If they do not, why is it?
