Refreshing the Heart of God

We read the Scriptures that God refreshes our hearts and we know it from experience, but one day God and two angels visited Abraham and the reverse happened. Abraham said to them, “‘Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.’ They said, ‘Do as you have said'” (Genesis 18:4, 5).
Abraham provided water that they might wash their feet and then they could rest under the tree where they talked. He also wanted to bring them bread that they might have something to eat. All this so that they, the Lord and the angels, could refresh their hearts.
Amazingly, they did not tell Abraham that they had no need of it, but told him to do as he had said and they would eat the bread.
Think of it. A mere man refreshed the hearts of God and angels. Can you refresh the hearts of God and angels? Do you think when He looks down on the world that He sees an abundance of wickedness? Yes, He does, and when you live by faith as Abraham did, you will surely refresh the heart of God, although you have not given Him bread in the manner that Abraham did. What can you do today to refresh the heart of God?
