Do Not Let Anything Keep You From Entering Heaven

Jesus knew what He said and He meant what He said. Some of what He said sounds extreme. Then preachers, teachers, and other members of the church will soften or even deaden the blow of His powerful words, claiming that He did not mean what He said. An example of that is what He taught about avoiding hell, “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell” (Matthew 5:29, 30).
The first thing we want to tell people is that He did not mean that literally. We immediately take away the power that should have on those who read those words. Leave Jesus’ words alone.
Do whatever it takes to avoid hell, regardless of the extreme actions needed. Fine comfort it will give, if someone ends up in hell, but he assures himself that Jesus did not mean what He said.
If something in your life causes you to sin, cut it off, regardless of what it is, even if it is something as close and as precious to you as your hand or your eye. Do not mess around with sin! If you play around with it, you will end up in hell. Will it have been worth it?
