Defend Your Position Then Get Away From the Enemy

We find it easy to criticize Eve, because we were not there and we think we know she should have done. We have the wisdom of hindsight. She did not. However, we can learn from her.
After the serpent perverted God’s word, she then defended what God said and what God expected of her and her husband, “And the woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, “You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die”‘” (Genesis 3.2, 3).
Eve did a good job, up to this point. However, after hearing the serpent pervert God’s word, that was the time to get away from that creature.
If you see that you can persuade the enemy to your side, keep working with him, but if does not see the truth, just get away, lest you fall into his trap.
