The Woman Became Blasphemous

Look at a sight that John may never have thought he would see, “So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns” (Revelation 17:3).
Who was she? The first sentence revealed the key to the answer. Where did the angel take John to see this woman? In the spirit John saw this vision, because it was not yet a reality, but something that would take place years after John had left the earth. Where in the spirit did the angel take John? The angel took John into the wilderness!
Do you recall the last time in the Book of Revelation we saw a woman in the wilderness? Read Revelation 12:1-6. There John saw God’s people, represented by a woman, fleeing into the wilderness for a long time.
However, while she was there, something happened. She changed. She had gone from a pure woman to a harlot! The church changed into something that the first century church never would have imagined.
Be sure your church always stays the pure Bride of Christ.
