Do You Believe What God Tells You?

Habakkuk complained of the violence and crime among his people. He saw his own brethren contending with one another (Habakkuk 1:1-4). He cried out to God about it, but wondered why He did not do anything about it.
God heard the prophet and the God of justice was preparing a solution, but it would seem so horrible to the prophet that he might not believe what God had prepared. He began His answer to the prophet, saying,
“Look among the nations and watch–
Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days
Which you would not believe, though it were told you.”
(Habakkuk 1:5)
Oh, Habakkuk, God heard you and what He prepared to do would sound so awful that you would not like what He proposed. He had prepared the Chaldeans, the Babylonians, to punish Judah. Habakkuk knew of the military might of the Babylonians and such a thought frightened him.
Sure enough, Habakkuk questioned God’s wisdom in using the Babylonians.
Have you done as Habakkuk did? Did you cry out to God about a matter and when you saw how He was going to resolve it, did you decide that you did not like the solution? Is there something in the word of God that you do not like? Always remember that He knows what He is doing and His way is always best. Accept it. Believe it. Do it.
