The World Does Not Know the Source of Its Problems

A fallen star opened the bottomless pit and out of it came a smoke so thick that it hid the sun, meaning that the people on earth could not see. Out of the smoke came locusts with power, but their power was not to kill men. They were not to do damage to the people of God (Revelation 9:1-4), but the rest of the people of the world would feel the scorpion-like sting of these locusts, “And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them” (Revelation 9:5, 6).
That typifies the world. The world suffers from its own foolishness and rebellion against God, but the people cannot see that their troubles spring from their desire to remove God from their lives.
The world does not want God or His blessed Son Jesus Christ. The world does not want His kingdom, which is the church.
What happens when the world gets its wishes? The source of light no longer shines upon them and since they cannot see in the spirit, they stumble, but the irritating part about it is, they cannot see what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4:19 is a good commentary on Revelation 9:5, 6,
The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.
(Proverbs 4:19)
Let your light shine, both for your sake and for others.
