If You Insist on Sin, God Will Let You Go On Doing It

Israel loved to worship idols and nothing would turn the nation from it. Therefore, the Lord said to His beloved nation,
“Come to Bethel and transgress,
At Gilgal multiply transgression;
Bring your sacrifices every morning,
Your tithes every three days.
Offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven,
Proclaim and announce the freewill offerings;
For this you love,
You children of Israel!”
Says the Lord GOD.
(Amos 4:4, 5)
That sounds as though God encouraged them to sin. It was as though He said, “If that is the way you insist on going, go ahead. Do it.” Yet, He also showed in the Book of Amos that they would suffer for the way they insisted on living.
Revelation 22:11 and Second Thessalonians 2:11 teach similar things.
If we insist on a sinful life, the Lord will let us believe what we want, even letting us believe that we have justification for doing what we want to do.
