Your Love at the Beginning

Jesus had many good things to say to the church at Ephesus, but then He said, “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love” (Revelation 2:4).
It was not the object of their love that they had left. They still loved God and one another, as the previous three verses indicate, but the level of their love was not what it used to be.
They may have engaged in good works for various reasons, but it was not for the zeal of love that they had at first. The danger was that in time they would no longer love at all. Yet, love comprises the first and second commandments. If we let love go, the rest of our religion will follow.
Do you need to restore your initial love? Examine yourself and if the need is there, rededicate yourself to the Lord immediately.
