To Be the Church

To be the church which belongs to Jesus means to obey him as Lord, acting according to his will and not our own desires. Read 1 Peter 4:1-2.
To be Christ’s church means that we abandon our own merit to accept the gift of salvation through the cross. Read Titus 3:5-7.
To be the church of God means to worship him in spirit and truth, rather than be carried away by our emotions. Read John 4:24.
To be the church means to love one another as Christ loved us and gave his life for us. Read John 13:34-35.
To be the church means we fulfill the mission of God in the world so that all may know him. Read 1 Peter 2:9-10.
To be the church of Christ means to meet around the table of the Lord each first day of the week, for there he makes himself present. Read Luke 22:14-20.
To be the church means we are faithful to God for he is faithful in all things. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:12-24.
To be God’s church doesn’t mean having a religion, but having a relationship with the Lord. Read Philippians 3:2-11.
To be the church means seeking first God’s kingdom and righteousness, without letting anything interfere with this priority. Read Matthew 6:33-34 and Luke 9:57-62.
To be the church means to sanctify ourselves in life, word and thought, that we might be children of the heavenly Father. Read James 4:8.
