God Has to Prove Himself to His People

To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 48 and 49.
God wanted His people to hear something. These were the people who called themselves Israel and who swore by God’s name and mentioned Him, although they did not do it in truth or in righteousness, but they claimed to lean on the God of Israel (Isaiah 48:1, 2).
They were inflexible and hard headed, therefore, He announced things beforehand and then Israel would see those things happen suddenly (Isaiah 48:3, 4). What was God doing? He explained in verse 5,
“Even from the beginning I have declared it to you;
Before it came to pass I proclaimed it to you,
Lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them,
And my carved image and my molded image
Have commanded them.'”
(Isaiah 48:5)
Idols cannot announce what they shall cause to come to pass. No, something happens, then men say their idol did it. The idol has no mind or heart, and no usable mouth. The God of Israel is the one true and living God.
God’s own people did not realize that! Therefore, God had to show to His own people who He was!
Does God have to do that to you?
