Do You Believe the Report?

To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 53-55.
Israel surely thought that they would believe anything from the Lord, yet, when preconceived ideas entered their minds, many of them found a report from Him hard to believe,
Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
(Isaiah 53:1)
The prophets reported something, but it seemed that no one believed it. What was the report that the people would not believe? Isaiah continued,
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
(Isaiah 53:2, 3)
Someone would come from the most unlikely place. He would have no physical beauty about Him. People would despise and reject Him. People would find Him as a Man of sorrows whose acquaintance was grief. Therefore, people would hide their faces from Him. The people would not esteem Him.
He would be the One they had been waiting to see, but He did not appear as they expected Him. They would be so disappointed in Him that they would kill Him.
That is the story of Jesus Christ, told long ago by Isaiah the prophet. What do you think of the Christ? Do you believe everything the Bible says about Him?
