From Sorrow to Gladness

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Corinthians 2.
Paul had made the Corinthians sorrowful (Second Corinthians 2:1), but he did not want to go to them in that way again. He explained further, “For if I make you sorrowful, then who is he who makes me glad but the one who is made sorrowful by me?” (Second Corinthians 2:2).
Paul rebuked and corrected the Corinthians, but it was their improvement that would then bring him gladness, and he wanted that.
Some people seem to enjoy rebuking and criticizing, and if the person changes, the critics do not become joyful, but look for other things or people to tear down.
