Just Ordinary People Like Us

To read the Bible in a year, read First Corinthians 1.
We exalt Paul because he was an apostle of Jesus Christ (First Corinthians 1:1). Yet, he wrote to the Church of God in Corinth, comprised of ordinary people like us, but God had also called those people to be saints, just like us (First Corinthians 1:2).
To those ordinary people, Paul spoke these words of heaven, “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (First Corinthians 1:3).
Imagine Paul, as guided by the Holy Spirit, writing those words to you from heaven! Friends, the Spirit preserved those words in Scripture because He means them to be for you also. He did not mean them any less for you than He did for the ordinary people of ancient Corinth.
As you go about your business today, remind yourself that the Father and His Son in heaven, say grace to you and peace. See what that does to your heart.
