When Your Life Is Full of Troubles

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 88 and 89.
Heman the Ezrahite had so many troubles that they were bringing him to an early grave (Psalm 88:3-9). What did he do about the situation? What would you do? Would you get drunk? Would you take antidepressants? Would you take it out on your family? What would you do? Heman began the Psalm, revealing what he did,
O LORD, God of my salvation,
I have cried out day and night before You.
Let my prayer come before You;
Incline Your ear to my cry.
(Psalm 88:1, 2)
Yet, Heman did not see the help from God immediately. At that point, most people give up, concluding that prayer does not work. However, Psalm 88 is in the Bible to show that prayer does work, but we have to wait for God’s timing.
