What Does Your Baptism Say?

Some people thought that God’s grace meant they could continue in sin, but Paul refuted that thinking quickly, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” (Romans 6:1, 2). Why try to live in sin if you died to it? It does not make sense.
When did you die to sin? Paul shows in the next verse, “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?” (Romans 6:3). Your baptism says that you died with Jesus Christ and He died because of sin, not His, but He died for your sin.
Okay then, your baptism announced to heaven and to the world that you had given up living in sin. Think about why you were baptized and then live in harmony with that reason.
