Be Happy to Defend Yourself

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 26.

Do you walk in truth and with Jesus everyday? If so, you will have your enemies and they shall accuse you of evil falsely. Therefore, when you get the chance to defend yourself, do not dread it, but gladly give your defense and use it to show the life of Christ in you. Paul did that. The Jews brought accusations against him and he had the chance to defend himself before a king, who gave Paul permission to speak, and he got everyone’s attention (Acts 26:1), and spoke, “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which have to do with the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently” (Acts 26:2-3). Agrippa was neither a Christian or a Jew. Perhaps then he could be an objective judge. Paul used the opportunity to so defend himself and to present the Way in a good light that Agrippa considered converting to Christianity.
