Why Were You Baptized?

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 19:1-20.
Apollos went to Corinth and Paul went to Ephesus, where he found some disciples (Acts 19:1). He began a conversation with them, “He said to them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?’ So they said to him, ‘We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.’ And he said to them, ‘Into what then were you baptized?’ So they said, ‘Into John’s baptism'” (Acts 19:2, 3). He went on to explain John’s baptism and then to speak of Jesus. The men were baptized into Christ.
Into what were you baptized? Why were you baptized? Have you even been baptized? You must be baptized to be saved. Have you done that yet and for that purpose?
