Reason From the Scriptures

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 17:1-15.
Do not tell someone the truth and expect them to believe it just because you said it. Paul travelled to Thessalonica (Acts 17:1) and watch how he worked, “Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, ‘This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ'” (Acts 17:2, 3). His reasoning was Scripture, speaking what Scripture spoke. Then he explained and demonstrated what the Scriptures said.
People need to know what the Scriptures say, not what you say. Therefore, do as Paul did. Tell them what Scripture says and then explain it to them as best as you can.
