A Covenant with the Eyes

To read the Bible in a year, read Job 31 and 32.
In chapter 31, Job began to list all the ways in which he had not sinned. The first thing he mentioned, most men will know as a difficult thing. He said,
“I have made a covenant with my eyes;
Why then should I look upon a young woman?
For what is the allotment of God from above,
And the inheritance of the Almighty from on high?
Is it not destruction for the wicked,
And disaster for the workers of iniquity?
Does He not see my ways,
And count all my steps?”
(Job 31.1–4)
Job knew that God saw everything, every step and everything Job did. Therefore, he knew that if he walked with the wicked, God would repay Job for it. That led him to make a covenant with his eyes, that he would not look upon a young woman with lust, and, knowing that God knew his ways, Job declared that he had not broken his own covenant.
God in heaven, make us all strong like Job.
