Look At Someone's Condition

To read the Bible in a year, read Job 21 and 22.
Job’s friends argued with him relentlessly, insisting that he had sinned to bring on his horrible suffering and so they showed him no mercy. Yet, he pled with them just to look at him and let compassion fill their souls,
“Listen carefully to my speech,
And let this be your consolation.
Bear with me that I may speak,
And after I have spoken, keep mocking.
As for me, is my complaint against man?
And if it were, why should I not be impatient?
Look at me and be astonished;
Put your hand over your mouth.”
(Job 21:1-5)
He hoped that if they would just take a good look at him, his condition would lead them to listen to him carefully. He hoped they would bear with him.
Those are two things we can do for someone who suffers, even someone who suffers as a result of their sin.
1. Listen to them carefully.
2. Bear with them.
If you can do those two things, you may help a soul recover from his ordeal and perhaps repent of sin, if that was the the cause of his suffering.
