When Troubles Overwhelm

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Chronicles 20–22.
The Moabites, Ammonites, and the people of Mt. Seir gathered together to fight against Judah and King Jehoshaphat (2Chronicles 20:1). The king heard this report, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar” (v. 2). What would you do if you heard something like that? Jehoshaphat feared, but he also sought the Lord and proclaimed a fast throughout the nation (v. 3). The nation joined him, “So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD” (v. 4). Later the king prayed to God, not knowing what else to do.
When you are overwhelmed, seek the Lord, fast, and tell Him that you do not know what to do. See what happens afterward.
