The Father Prunes You

To read the Bible in a year, read John 15.
You are a branch in the vine, which is Jesus. His Father takes of the vine and the branches, but notice what He does, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit” (John 15:1, 2). The Father, like any vinedresser, wants to see His vine full of grapes. He does what needs to be done to insure that the branches bear much fruit. Some branches refuse to bear fruit, and He cuts those branches off. He sees other branches that bear fruit, but He believes they can bear even more fruit. Therefore, He prunes off any parts that keep that branch from reaching its full potential. It can be a painful process for the branch, yet, in time it bears much delightful fruit.
Stay with Jesus and the Father shall prune you. You may wonder why things are cut off from you, but the Father works with you to make you productive.
