Faith Disappointed, Faith Grew

To read the Bible in a year, read John 11:18-46.
Jesus approached the city where His friend Lazarus had died (John 11:18,19). When Martha, the sister of Lazarus heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him (v. 20). Then she said to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You” (vv. 21, 22). Martha had faith in Jesus, which is why she knew that if He had been present, Lazarus would not have died, yet, she was disappointed that Jesus had not been there. Just as quickly as she said that, she continued to express her faith, knowing that whatever Jesus asked of God, He would do it. Although her brother had died, she knew that something could still happen! She hoped that the Lord would bring back her brother from the dead.
You have faith in God and that faith brought you expectations, and then things did not turn out as you wished. Do not despair, keep believing and watch God work in your life.
