A King Who Read the Scriptures Publicly

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Kings 23-25.
Imagine the following happening in some country today, “Now the king sent them to gather all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem to him. The king went up to the house of the LORD with all the men of Judah, and with him all the inhabitants of Jerusalem–the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of the LORD” (2Kings 23:1, 2). Picture a modern king, prime minister, or president reading the Scriptures to the people of his nation! Wow! This king, King Josiah, knew the Scriptures came from God and the king knew that reading them publicly would have a powerful impact upon the people. May God give each of our nations rulers who will read Scriptures privately first and then publicly.
However, you do not have to be a nation ruler to read the Scriptures to others. Whoever you are, look for a time and a place to read God’s word to those who will listen.
