Why Go to a Source Other Than God?

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Kings 1-3.
Second Kings begins this way, “Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab. Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria, and was injured; so he sent messengers and said to them, ‘Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this injury'” (2Kings 1:1, 2). King Ahaziah felt things coming apart. Moab rebelled against him and he sustained an injury. That is when people get desperate and do weird things. What then did a son of Abraham do? He inquired of a false god! Had those false gods helped their people? No. Why then did Ahaziah seek Baal-zebub? Something about this god attracted him, but he did not help the king recover Moab or help him with his injury.
Are you prepared to seek the Lord if something bad happens to you? The way you can know that you will be ready is what you do now? Do you seek the Lord daily now?
