A Magnificent House

To read the Bible in a year, read First Kings 6 and 7.
The temple Solomon built for God was not the largest building ever, but it was not smallest either. As you read the following, keep in mind that a cubit was at least eighteen inches, “Now the house which King Solomon built for the LORD, its length was sixty cubits, its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits. The vestibule in front of the sanctuary of the house was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and the width of the vestibule extended ten cubits from the front of the house. And he made for the house windows with beveled frames” (1Kings 6:2-4). The temple was at least 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high. It was large, but again, not the largest structure ever built. As you continue to read in First Kings you will learn of the materials of this temple, adding to its splendor. Perhaps there have been buildings more glorious looking, I do no t know, but this building was constructed for the glory of God and with His full approval. That right there made it greater than all other buildings.
What do you do for the glory of God? It does not have to be a building project, but it might be work you do with people, or whatever, but the point is, let all that you do be for the glory of God.
