Satan Wants You

To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 22:31-53.
Satan wanted Peter. Jesus told Peter, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat” (Luke 22 ;31). Satan wanted Job also. Peter himself told us that Satan walks about as a roaring lion seeking to devour whom he will (1Peter 5:8). In other words, Satan wants you. Just as with Peter and Job, Satan wants to see what you are made of. You make claims for yourself and he wants to see if he can knock you down. However, the Lord does not leave us alone, for He told Peter, “But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren” (v. 32). The Lord intervenes on our behalf, yet, we still have to go through the trials and have faith in Him. Do not let Satan win. Cling to the Lord and to His Scriptures with all your might.
