People Watch You

To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 14:1-24.
What the Pharisees did to Jesus in what follows, people will do to you also, “Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely” (Luke 14:1). They watched Him, not to learn from Him, but to see if He did anything wrong that they might criticize Him.
If you are a Christian, the world watches you for the same reason. If you are a leader, people watch you for the same reason. If you are a leader in the church, people in the world and people in the church, watch you again for the same reason. Do not be discouraged by that, but remember that your children often watched you for the same reason, but you went about your life and work, and your children eventually learned to imitate you and to admire you.
