Always Be Ready and Look at the Blessing

To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 12:35-59.
Jesus gave a parable of a man who went away and came back and found his servants ready and waiting for him. The man blessed his servants for so doing. Jesus used this to exhort us to be ready for His return at all times (Luke 12:35, 36). Look at the blessing He said the man in the parable gave his servants, and by this we understand that Jesus told us ahead of time of how He will bless us in heaven, “Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them” (v. 37). Did you catch that? Do not read over the passage quickly. Did not Jesus imply that if we are ready when He returns, He will gird Himself, make us sit down to eat, and then, now get this, He will come and serve us! Whoa! Is that what verse 37 implied? Yes, that is exactly what Jesus told us! Picture that throughout the rest of the day, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, coming right up to you and serving you. My mind overwhelms me.
Therefore Jesus may come at any time. It is prudent to be ready (vv. 38-40), because you do not want to miss out on that blessing.
