Jesus Knew the Storm Would Come

To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 8:22-56.
Watch what Jesus did, “Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.’ And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy” (Luke 8:22, 23). Hey, when the Lord of heaven and earth says, Let’s go to the other side, you go. You go, believing everything will be okay. After all, look who is in the boat with you. He has such a peaceful spirit He goes to sleep. You have not a worry in the world.
Then it happens, a dangerous storm hits the lake, so much so that although you are an experienced fisherman, you believe this storm will kill you. Yet, what is the Master of the earth doing? He is sleeping! Wake Him up! He can help us!
However, remember He is the Master of the earth and He knew this storm would come, nevertheless, He went to sleep. It must be that everything is going to be all right. Later in their various ministries, all the apostles would suffer horribly at the hands of both man and nature. Whether they suffered or rode out the storm, they placed their lives in the hand of the Man who stilled the waters.
Have you done the same?
