Why God Would Be With Joshua

To read the Bible in a year, read Joshua 1-3.
Moses died. What would Joshua think? Would he fear? He did not need to, because first, the Lord spoke to him, “After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying…” (Joshua 1:1). Second, the Lord told Joshua that though Moses was dead (v. 2), the Lord would give the land that He had promised through Moses, “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses” (v. 3), and then He gave a brief picture of what that land included (v. 4).
When God speaks and makes a promise, He keeps it, regardless of anything else. We might try to think of reasons why He will not keep those promises or why He cannot, but do not even begin to think like that, for it will only breed doubt in your heart. Concentrate on the Lord’s promises and watch the richness of your faith increase.
