To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 8:22-38.
Jesus did something unusual. Some people brought a blind man to Jesus that He might touch the man and heal Him (Mark 8:1). Jesus was going to heal the man as the Lord wanted to do. Therefore, “He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything” (v. 23). Jesus did not make a show of it, but took the man away from the town, and then, spit on the man’s eyes. I wonder what the man thought when Jesus did that! Then Jesus touched the man as the people requested.
If you were of the people who brought the blind man, or if you had been the man, would you have expected the Lord of heaven and earth to spit on the man’s eyes? Would it have upset you? We need to remember who is the Lord and who are the servants. He does not operate according to our whims and expectations. You may read the New Testament and sometimes not like what you read, but the Lord knows what He is doing. Accept it and Him, and you shall do well in life.
