Many Sacrifices Will Not Change God's Mind

To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 23-25.
God already said that He would not curse Israel. However, Balaam, who sought the cursing of Israel for King Balak, kept trying things to see if God would change His mind. If God did change His mind and cursed Israel, then Balak would give Balaam a great deal of wealth. Numbers 23:1 shows one of the things Balaam tried, “Then Balaam said to Balak, ‘Build seven altars for me here, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.'” Balaam knew that God required sacrifices for various things, so, the prophet reasoned that perhaps he could please God with this large sacrifice. Yet, God still did not change His mind. He wanted to bless Israel.
Friends, God has spoken in the Scriptures. We cannot change His mind. Let us then learn to live within His will rather than trying to change it.
