Why Did They Complain?

To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 11-13.
Moses wrote that the people complained, but notice he did not say why they complained, “Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp” (Numbers 11;1). Why did the people complain? It does not matter why they complained. Their complaining was not legitimate and it angered the Lord and His fire consumed some of them because of it. God killed the complainers!
Are you a complainer? Do you realize you could lose your soul over it? You may think you have a good reason for complaining, just like the Israelites did, but it still angered the Lord and He let His fire burn among them. Do not be a complainer. Repent immediately.
The people did cry out to Moses and this happened, “Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the LORD, the fire was quenched” (v. 2). Moses called the place Taberah because of the burning (v. 3). The Lord will forgive, but He wants to see repentance.
