Priests Cannot Profane God's Name

To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 22 and 23.
Although the high priests offer to the Lord those things that the children of Israel wanted offered to Him, those priests could not profane God’s name by offering those gifts from Israel when the priest himself was unclean. Therefore, God said, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me: I am the LORD” (Leviticus 22.2). The Lord then went on to list the various ways a priest could be unclean and thus profane God’s name while doing His work.
Likewise, Christians are priests and they cannot profane God’s name by offering themselves without being clean in spirit. Seek cleanliness by forgiveness.
