He Is Our God

To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 18 and 19.
As God began to speak to Israel through Moses (Leviticus 18:1), He said, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘I am the LORD your God'” (v. 2). He then warned them not to do as the Egyptians had done, nor to do as the Canaanites had done (v. 3), but Israel was to do this instead, and notice what God said about Himself twice, “You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the LORD your God. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the LORD” (vv. 4, 5). He reminded Israel two times in verses 4 and 5, plus, once in verse 2, that He is the Lord their God. Remembering that would keep them from doing the abominations of the peoples surrounding them, and it would cause them to do what God said.
Remind yourself throughout the day who is your God and see how it affects what you do.
