Do Not Insult God

To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 26 and 27.
Look at the grand work that the Lord did for Israel in redeeming them out of Egypt. The last thing Israel should have ever thought of doing was insulting God. He warned them, “You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God” (Leviticus 26.1). If they remembered that last line, “for I am the LORD your God,” they would never make idols.
Remind yourself today that He is your God also. See how that affects your behavior, what you do or do not do.
