Carrying the Cross

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 27.32-66.
Jesus could no longer carry His cross. However, the Roman soldiers were not about to carry it. Matthew wrote, “Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross” (Matthew 27:32). I think there is evidence that Simon later converted to Christ, but at this point in time, Simon did not volunteer to carry the cross of Christ, but the Roman soldiers “compelled” Simon to bear the cross of Christ.
When we follow Christ, He expects us to carry a cross also. The question is, Do I try to get someone else to carry my cross for me, like the Roman soldiers did? Do I ask others to suffer for me or to do my dirty work?
